The Founder’s story

The vision for Zamar was born in the heart of Mrs. Regina Samson whose growing up witnessed unsettling challenges coupled with unforeseen opportunities. These circumstances gently infused an unwavering vision and unflinching courage to launch an educational system that would prepare the NOW generation for the challenges of the future. Mr. Durai Samson who joined the life and calling of Mrs. Regina, significantly accelerated the vision through his guidance and leadership to where it is today. A well-known proverb is better read from the eyes of the Founders- “Here there is vision and the children flourish’.

Zamar’s story

Zamar school was started in 2004, in a 2000 sq.ft. rented house, with 30 children, 2 teachers and 2 support staff. In 2008 a major challenge for space and finances threatened the progress of this vision. However, a divinely orchestrated support from Wellspring International revived the vision and enabled Zamar to make steady progress once again. Zamar was able to provide full scholarship to students from 2004 to 2014 after which fee structures were brought in to sustain its operations.

The school forever remains indebted to Ravi Zacharias, Naomi Mcneil, Seth Lourie, and Martin Sanden for their tremendous support and guidance. The school’s sports houses too have been named after them!

Today, Zamar stands tall on its own land and building with 69 dedicated staff and 841 students educated from Lower Kindergarten to 12th standard.

As the Founder Principal, it gives me immense joy to welcome you to Zamar! Zamar means Praise! I am filled with deep gratitude as I see the fulfilment of this God sized vision where children are our joy and celebration! They are in the hands of master workmen and women teachers who have dedicated their lives to orchestrating a masterpiece in each child’s life. This is not just a school for academic excellence, but also a second home for children filled with love, care and compassion.
